Nepal can be one of the best destination for the Fishing and Rafting Tour since Nepal has inland water resources of about 745,000 ha consists of river systems, lakes, reservoirs, village ponds, wetlands and irrigated rice fields.  Nepal has more than 6,000 rivers and streams  with a total length 21,000 km. They are purely rain fed ( seasonal and dry up in dry season ) and snow plus rain fed rivers which flows continuously  from the northern Himalayas to the southern plain. Nepal’s aquatic ecosystems offer excellent habitats to about 186 indigenous and 11 exotic fish species and 59 species have been considered as cold water fish. Some of the species of fish found in Nepal are  Sahar ( Tor Putitora) , Katle ( Acrossocheilus neolissocheilus ), Fresh water Shark or Gounch ( Bagarius bagarius ) , Jal Kapoor ( Clupisoma Gaura ), Freshwater Eel or Raj Bam ( Anguilla Bengalensis), Snow trout, Catfish etc. ( Source : Sharma CM 1996 –  unpublished Master Thesis ).

Among these 6,000 plus rivers, Trishuli river flows nearby Kathmandu and is one of the major tributaries of the Narayani River system in the central Nepal. Trishuli is named after triden an instrument of Shiva – the most powerful god of Hindu myth. It is believed that the lord Shiva created three springs in Gosainkunda with his trident and drank water so the river named Trishuli from his trident.  

Trishuli now a days in Nepal is one of the most popular river for rafting. It is very accessible river from Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan and easy rapids in a beautiful gorge. The village life around the river basin is beautiful to explore and experience.

Fishing and Rafting in Trishuli River tour is of 1 night and 2 days.  The trips starts with a beautiful drive from Kathmandu , Chitwan or Pokhara to the river Trishuli. It is about 4 hours drive to the put in point.  We enjoy rafting for a while and then enjoy fishing in the river nearby  the resort where you stay overnight. Next day you raft, enjoy fishing and then drive to your next destination.

Itinerary in detail

Day 01: Drive Charaudi – Rafting – Beach Resort

We drive in the morning from Kathmandu or from Pokhara to the rafting put in point Charaudi. It takes about 3 hours to the Charaudi from Kathmandu a bit longer from Pokhara.

Meet with our rafting guide or representative in the Highway, receive your safety jacket along with the instruction and briefing and then walk to the river.

Start Rafting for sensational experience. Lunch is provided in the bank of river cooked by our own staff. After picnic style lunch in the beach of the river, we raft again to the Beach resort.

Reach to the Resort in the evening. You can take fishing trip in the late afternoon around the resort

Overnight stay in the Resort. Meals will be provided.

Day 02: Fishing in the morning – Transfer to Kathmandu | Pokhara or Chitwan 

Enjoy your breakfast and fishing trip in the river Trishuli around the Resort.

This is fun driven fishing trip in the calm river, so capture of fish is not guaranteed. Try your luck and be patient to find them in your rod.

After lunch, you will be transferred to Kathmandu or next destination such as Chitwan National Park, Pokhara, Gorkha, Lumbini or any other destination.
